Carlos Cidrais began his career as a VJ, creating visuals for electronic performers. He performed with Mouse on Mars, Kid 606, Kahn and Snooze, among others.
Having earned a BA in Sound and Image, focusing on Digital Art, he began working as a 3D artist at C.I.T.A.R. - a research center for technology and science in the arts.
He completed a Masters Degree in Computer Animation at the School of Arts of the Portuguese Catholic University, where he specialized in photo-real visual effects for film.
Three of the short films to which he has contributed visual effects have been selected for screenings and awards at festivals in Los Angeles, Madrid, Lisbon and Porto.
Coming to London he has worked at Golden Square Post Production, Escape Studios, Th1ng, Therapy Films and Technicolor on projects for brands such as BMW, Williams F1, Babyliss, AC Carrier, Play.com, Dove, Nokia, Disney, Mastercard, Airwick and the FA Cup.
He is currently a freelance lighting and rendering artist/generalist and available for work, based in London. He also provides After Effects services.
