Tom Connor brought a unique vision to the creation of TAG in 2001. By blending traditional marketing disciplines, strategic brand positioning and world class creative, Tom created a diverse brand solutions company whose goal is to bring out the best in a client’s brand. “We’re all about helping our clients find effective ways for their brands to leave lasting impressions,” he says.

A 20-year veteran of entertainment marketing, Tom has played an important role in launching and nurturing program, network and channel brands in every genre and platform. He has devoted his career to building company cultures where effective creative ideas can flourish guided by a foundation of sound strategic insight.

Before founding TAG, Tom was Head of Marketing & Brand Strategy at 3 Ring Circus where he was hired in 1999 to create a strategic branding and marketing practice within this Los Angeles-based broadcast design company. Tom developed a proprietary brand positioning methodology to assess, position and grow entertainment and interactive brands for such high profile clients as the Fox Network, Fox Family, Court TV, Oxygen, Hallmark, Astral Media (Canada), Televisa (Mexico), Discovery, Creative Planet.com and Cablevision.

Prior to 3 Ring Circus, Tom was Senior Vice President, Marketing and Creative Services at Paramount Pictures Television where he was a key member of the studio’s senior marketing staff, overseeing a department of 35 in Los Angeles and New York. During his 13 years with the company, Tom was responsible for the creation and strategic execution of creative consumer, trade and affiliate marketing campaigns for all of the studio’s television properties. These properties included such well-known television brands as Star Trek: The Next Generation, Star Trek: Deep Space Nine, Frasier, Entertainment Tonight, Cheers, and The Arsenio Hall Show, in addition to the studio’s vast international library of feature films.

kenny min Designer A former Dean’s List graduate of Otis College of Art and Design, Min has amassed a terrific portfolio of work in a relatively short time. In addition to projects he has done for TAG, he has designed and animated a broad range of work from music videos for Outkast, to broadcast design for Universal Channel Latin America, MTV and National Geographic Channel. He has also applied his talents to consumer product marketing for such well-known brands as KB Home, the Gap and Mattel.

chris turner Director Brand Strategy London-based Chris Turner is one of Europe’s most experienced media strategists and continues to develop TAG’s presence in the region. Chris will be combines TAG’s unique approach to brands with his wealth of cross-media experience in the UK and Europe to offer clients an unparalleled service focussed on insight, creativity and accountability.

Chris’ extensive client-side career has provided him with a particular understanding of what clients want from an agency partner. He has developed successful brand positioning and strategy which has encompassed on and off-air marketing, mobile and online for brands such as Discovery Channel, Animal Planet, Discovery Health and Reality TV. A former Vice-President of Marketing at Discovery Networks Europe, Chris was instrumental in establishing Discovery Channel and Animal Planet as pan-European brands. He also project-led the launch of the company’s first digital channel bouquet in the UK and was involved in creating Discovery Health, the company’s first online/TV hybrid. In his first post in television, he was responsible for the marketing strategy behind the launch of five channels in the UK on the first Sky Multichannels package. Most recently Portfolio Director of channel creator and manager Zone Vision, Chris was a client of TAG’s on the Reality TV re-brand. Prior to joining the TV business, he worked in movie distribution and publishing.

Chris has an MBA from Ashridge Management School. As an integral part of the course, he consulted extensively for a mobile internet services provider, developing an international expansion strategy for the company.

He has both spoken at and produced branding sessions for the Edinburgh Television Festival, and has served on the RTS Marketing committee and the Promax Europe organising committee. Teams under Chris’ guidance have won numerous Promax awards and a commendation from the D&AD, and his views have been published in the Financial Times Creative Business section, Revolution, Marketing and Campaign magazines.
