OSX "hide" bug
Still trying to gather information about this one, so I'm posting it here for the time being (in loose form).
It's the infamous "hide" bug on OS X, where After Effects will not become unhidden after you hide it. To my knowledge, no one has been able to reproduce it - it happens sporadically, effecting certain machines and not others. It's been suggested that it's a bug in OSX, as it's been known to come up with Acrobat and Photoshop[1] as well.
Thankfully, Lloyd Alvarez posted a temporary workaround on Creative Cow so you can actually save your work.
ps -xc
note the PID number for AE
then type:
kill -SEGV xxx (replace the xxx with the PID for AE)
it will save an incremental copy of your project in the same place where the last version was saved.[2]
